What are your gatherings like?

First, we must understand church is not a building, a Sunday school class, or a service time. According to scripture, a church gathering is a group of people coming together in Christ and the people are the church. Jesus shows us in Matthew 18 that a gathering can be as little as two people together.

What happens when I visit?

The service usually involves the singing of hymns, reading of scripture verses and possibly a psalm. If the church follows a lectionary, the sermon will often be about the scripture lections assigned to that day. Eucharistic churches have usually Holy Communion either every Sunday or several Sundays a month.

There are no rules as to what to bring to church, other than your self, an open heart and mind. Some bring a bible, if you’re going to engage in bible study.

If you want to know how to dress for church, something modest and comfortable should be fine. Generally, graphic tees that show off sports team logos or bands should never be worn to church. Solid-colored tops are fine, and even something with a pattern should be OK to wear.

Can I invite people to come with?

Ask your friends if they have a place to worship the Savior and invite them to come worship with you, especially at times like Christmas and Easter. If they aren’t Christians, ask them if they’d like to learn more about Jesus Christ and invite them to experience a Christian worship service with you. Remember to show the same respect for their beliefs that you hope they will give yours.

A celebration of Missionaries

Twice a year, Shining Light Kingdom Builders Church hosts a transformative three-day event called the Shining Light Love Conference. This special gathering is designed to shower God’s love on underfunded yet profoundly dedicated missionaries. These missionaries, who work tirelessly in remote and challenging mission fields, are brought to a place of rest, refreshment, and encouragement.

A Time to Refresh and Rejuvenate

During the conference, hundreds of missionaries are housed and cared for over three days. They experience the tangible love of God through acts of kindness and support, such as:

Lavish meals to nourish their bodies.
Powerful teachings to renew their spirits and strengthen their faith.
Encouragement sessions that remind them of their value and calling in God’s Kingdom.

This sacred time allows missionaries to step away from their demanding work and experience a season of restoration and renewal, leaving them better equipped to continue their mission with renewed passion.

Provision of Essential Resources

Beyond spiritual and emotional care, the Love Conference also addresses the practical needs of missionaries. We distribute:

Free ministry materials to aid their work in the mission field like Hard Copy Bibles, Audio Bibles in their local language, Storage cards, other Spiritual Books etc.
Food products to sustain them and the communities they serve.
Generators and other vital equipment to support their ministries in areas without reliable electricity.

These resources are given as tangible expressions of God’s provision, empowering missionaries to serve more effectively in their respective fields.

Growing Impact and Unwavering Dedication

The Shining Light Love Conference grows bigger every year, with more missionaries benefiting from this outpouring of love and support. Our most recent conference was unprecedented in its reach and impact, providing much-needed encouragement to missionaries who had been on the verge of quitting due to a lack of support.

It was a sobering yet inspiring reminder of the incredible sacrifices these individuals and families make for the Kingdom. Many leave behind comfort and stability to serve God in rural areas with limited resources and unimaginable challenges. Their dedication and perseverance, often marked by loneliness and hardship, are a testimony to their unwavering faith and love for God.

God has given us a clear mandate: to gather His missionaries, love them, feed them, comfort them, train them, and bless them. While no one can truly repay the sacrifices they make, we are committed to honoring their work by showing them the depth of God’s love and provision.
